This is an almost useless tech to research because you get Mech Infranty so soon after it. What should happen is this tech allows Battleships, Cruisers, AEGIS, etc to carry a few men. In real life, battleships carry special ops and deploy them. However, battleships do not ever get close to a coast so this means you would have to add an option to battleships to allow this.

Also, add the ability to produce MEDICAL SHIPS. It is either England or USA in real life, has a naval ship that is a Hospital on water. This should act as a barracks on water so when you launch an assault, you can put your men on the ship, and re-launch your assault two turns later.

Battleships, Destroyers, etc. weren't known for dropping off troops.
Special forces basically carried out the same missions performed by Spies in Civ 2, and Espionage in Civ 3.
Medicat Ships would be simulated by Battlefield Medicine, but if you're specifically seeking the Barracks ability to heal in one turn, that would be a different story...

The Medical ships is a great idea. Anf BTW its the US. THe ships name are the USNS Mercy and the USNS Comfort

Medical ships would be really useful, they should be added to the game, Dreadnought, I also agree that you should only be able to get them once you have battle field medicine

I would like a Heli Assault Ship also, that carries both Helicopters and Marines, and lets you airdrop Marines into enemy territory from the ships.

Hospital Ship is kind of a neat idea, it should only apply to foot units though.

Combat ships have never carried troops for landing, but we could use more transport variety, like LSTs, carry mech units only. Mech units could not be carried by regular troop ships. Allow more sophisticated types of assault with later techs, as described above.

This could connect quite well to my Military research Idea. You could have a number of sub-techs branching off of "amphibious warfare" that allow you to develop new methods of storming the beacheads, like amphibious tanks and improved landing craft.
