Amundsen-Scott Research Station - no suitable place to build?

I just played 2 games on huge map and there were almost none places with 5 snow tiles where city could be built. There was lots of thundra, ice and very small islands.

There were few places with snow, in ice, but completely useless.

Amount of ice was huge, which is very different to previous version where we had many snow tiles, specially long ones.

Did anyone else notice this?

No. I actually have a nice place for it in my game. Smallish snow island with a river, a few tundra tiles (one with spices, original reason for settling). And some sea resources/fishery. It's a decent city.
