Amurite Tower Mages

For some reason, the Fireballs that my Amurite Tower Mages summon SAY they are str 4, but always show as str .01 when I mouse over their target.
 
-Sigh- That's because orcs (which are the race of pretty much all barbarians and the clan, including goblins) were changed to be IMMUNE to fire for some silly reason I don't understand. That's not a problem with Tower Mages so much as the target being immune to fire; same problem arises from a normal mage or wizard casting fireball as well.

Only idea I know for dealing with that as things stands is the tower of elements, to make elementals have the strong promotion. Not certain, but I THINK that applies to fireballs, and that +1 strength is not typed to an element and thus they're not immune to it.
 
slightly related, I've noticed that if you have a Great Commander build a fort, it spawns with a Fort Commander instead of a Tower Mage. You can just dismiss the Fort Commander and reclaim the fort to get a tower mage, however.
 
When you say orcs are no longer immune, are you referring to a currently unreleased beta?
 
Tower Mages need to have the Dimensional Spells forbidden to them. I had a tower mage with level 1 dimensional and sent it to the capitol. You could then build a new tower mage, seemed like an abuse. The next turn the tower mage in the capital city is no longer there. I really see no reason to have a spell available that can basically do nothing.
