My friend just got Civilization IV Warlords, and we are trying to play it online, but she is having a problem.
She installed the expansion pack, and the title screen came up fine. She went to multiplayer, Internet Games, Login, and she came upon the multiplayer screen. A window popped up telling her to install the patch, so she did. A window then popped up, saying that she had to update the patch before she could play. The game then asked her to restart the computer.
Upon restarting the computer, when the PC background had just loaded, an error message appeared. It said:
An error [-5004 : 0x80041f42] has occurred while running the setup. Please make sure you have finished any previous setup, and close applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Firaxis Games [##ids_product_url##].
The options provided are 'report', 'detail', or 'okay.'
In 'detail', it gives a location in the C drive. At that location, it says 'setup has experienced an error.' Then it tells her to reinstall it.
This is the second time it has done that. What's going on?
