This is just an idea I got while playing and taking screen shots of my cities. It may already be in the forums, but I think it would be neat to see implemented someday.
I was thinking that it would be neat to see the units of a tile space or fortifying a city in a real fashion. That being, while in normal zoom, you see the standard 3 characters (ie archer) at 500% of the city proportion; however, when you zoom in, the number of characters goes to 5, zoom, 10, zoom further in and eventually you have many units occupying the tile in different ways. There could be units peeking out of towers, walking along walls, running down streets, standing on guard at the gates, etc... It would also be nice to see these units fortify/attack enemies as combat occurs. The openning sequence is sort of a tease with massive amounts of units performing combat, but I understand it would require alot to implement that.
I am writing this because it would be very cool to see implemented, but I lack the knowledge and skill to do it myself. Perhaps one day, someone with skill and knowhow will be able to do this.
