just the fact that once its over, you can change government.


other than that, its pretty much who knows what happens (but try to keep your people happy, because I think I remember them destroying buildings in my cities if you don't)

If you are playing conquests you can actually do some meaningful research by turning citizens into scientists

You can generate gold this way, too. I frequently put on a single beakerhead, and turn the rest of my rioters into tax collectors, but it depends on the precise situation, of course.

You can also do some warring without worrying about War Weariness, although remember that if you're going to a gov't with WW, any War Weariness points you developed previously will carry over to the new government.
