Is there any quick way to get out of anarchy without being a religious civ. Because waiting 8 turns until your cities start producing again it is just too long

I thought the happier your civ was when beginning the revolution (having luxuries, not at war, temples, etc.) the shorter the anarchy time would be. Is that a false assumption on my part?

llebsirhc...yes, that's a false assumption. From what I recall, this is one where we got the word straight from the developers -- 0-3 based on number of cities plus 1-5 purely random. C3C seems to have added one to this number, too, in certain instances.
