 but our intelligence tells us you won't live in peace for long... I hope for you the Babylonians aren't that far ahead in tech yet...

Turn 116 (ERIKKs move). More diplo - I sell Feudalism to the backwards but large-empired Persians

ERIKK: anarres?
ERIKK: what do you want for feudalism?
ERIKK: i have a wm!
anarres: hmm
anarres: what you offering
ERIKK: not complete but almost complete
ERIKK: i have 137 gold
anarres: but how? you only just got map making
ERIKK: traded it with the ai
ERIKK: 50 turns ago
anarres: eh?
ERIKK: they had mm a long time ago
ERIKK: i one has it you can trade your own map
ERIKK: i am sure you know this...
anarres: i just gave it to you didn't i?
anarres: oh
anarres: just re-read the lin:
i have wm
ERIKK: wake up dude :)
anarres: lol
anarres: i hae wm too from the celts
ERIKK: ah, then you know all my territory
anarres: got it when i gave him republic ;)
ERIKK: hmmm
ERIKK: what do you want for feudalism?
anarres: how much money you got?
ERIKK: 137 gold
anarres: need a bit more...
ERIKK: how much?
anarres: another 100
ERIKK: ok, deal
anarres: when?
ERIKK: 237 gold, 137 once the rest in steps of 20 gold, ok?
ERIKK: i can affort this i guess
ERIKK: agreed?
anarres: if you break the deal you have to declare war yes? just like for a 20 turn deal...
ERIKK: i wont break it, we have the 150 turn deal remember
ERIKK: i am a loyal player, you should know this by now
anarres: yes, of course. i just want to make sure we know the rules.
and as much as you are honorable, you _can_ break deals if you want to, it's part of the game...
ERIKK: sent the 137 gold
anarres: cool :)
anarres: did you accept?
ERIKK: yes
anarres: :D
ERIKK: what do you think of my territory?
anarres: v. big :(
ERIKK: thats why i attacked rather late
ERIKK: fillup first otherwise some ai gets there
ERIKK: i had NO iron :(

We have played to turn 133, but last night after a 4 hour playing session my computer dies and took 10 turns worth of notes :saiyan:

ERIKK, please email me the notes of all out diplomacy, including turn numbers and amounts. I will try to update my website tomorrow night...

I don't know how much of this you knew but who cares if you get something extra out of it. I assume your plans are already made up anyway...

This is what I have written down:

turn 118: Alliance Celts + Ottomans versus the Babylonians.
turn 122: End GA Persia. Persia switches to Republic in 6 turns.
turn 123: War Between Greece and China. Loads of Celtic, Babylonian and Aztec settler-spearman combo's passing through.
turn 126: Chivalry deal: Persia buys with Chinese money Chivalry form the Greeks for 631 gold + WM. We pay the Chinese in 11 turns 30 gold (330 gold, half of the tech). This way we both have it quite cheap but benefits the Chinese more as they need it harder.
turn 130: Finished engineering. Invention in ... turns. A look on the wonder screen tells us that the Babylonians already own Copernicus, the Aztecs Leo's and the rest is building Bachs.
turn 131: Persia finishes a harbor. Various Luxury deals with the AI's, half are polite with Persia again. Buy embassy in Istanbul. Ottmans are gracious with us. Upgrade horses to knights.
turn 133: Alliance Japanese + Babylonians versus the Ottomans. Begin GA China after a Rider defeates a Greek horse. Chinese expect Greeks to sign peace for some techs... Chinese dont have engineering yet and only have one embassy (Japan). Persia expects Chinese assault on Babylon (most chance) or Aztecs any moment now.

Thx ERIKK, I will update my website tonight (aroung midnight GMT) :D

btw, I only needed the info about me, but it is all welcome ;)

Still no 133 save in my mailbox, if it takes about 12 hours to reach me (like yesterday), it should be here by now. Can you sent it again when (if?) you get home tonight?

If I get home before I go out again, I will email it.

Sorry, but when my PC crashed I was on the verge of taking a petrol can and a match to it. Turning it back on was not an option...

He he, sounds very much like my PC! :satan:

I have updated my site again. These sections have been changed:
  • section "Logs 113-133"
  • section "MY STRATEGY"
Tonight I will do another update for sections:
  • section "Histograph"
  • section "view of the empire"
Yes! I now have a real strategy. It took me 133 turns. No really; my strategy actually hasn't been changed since turn one. I did exactly what I planned to do but it got messed up a bit due to the early Chinese-bribed-Japanese-war and the lack of iron in my territory

hehe. Sh!t happens, as they say.

I can reveal (ahead of the website update) that I have entered a Republic, got my GA, declared war on the Aztecs, and destroyed 3 Aztec cities :satan:

The first turn of war went much better than expected, and I have lots of Chinese Riders and some elite ones now too :D

The Ottomans and Greeks both declared war on me recently, but they are far away, and I have a nice 'traditional enemy' bonus from the wars :)

I am happily going to wipe the Aztecs out in less than 20 turns, then I will take out the other bigest civ in the world (Babs) :crazyeye:

Great we now have an almost world war:
Chinese vs. Aztecs
Chinese vs. Greeks
Chinese vs. Ottomans
Ottomans vs. Babylonians
Ottomans vs. Japanese

Recently the Celts were fighting too (against the Babylonians). Only the Persians are real "peacefull" ;) :satan:

Yeah, well some of us got almost half the continent to themselves and one other civ, and some of us got stuffed in a corner behind the 2 strongest civs and another 3 just behind them

Suffice to say that if I win this, God really must exist...

:hmm: that is true but all southern lands (where the Japs now live) are jungles. Also the Greeks and Ottomans (your nothern corner) are big. The Ottomans are the largest civ! It is just your corner that is quite small. The Babs and Aztecs hurried towards you to pick your lands!

The Babs and Aztecs were the strongest for about 110 turns out of 135. They are no longer strongest because of the constant waring I had with them, always taking out their units and cities. The Ottomans rise to fame is a recent thing, in only the last 15 turns or so.

Anyway, I wasn't complaining, I was pointing out my hopeless position. ;)

FWIW, you should count our cities. Last time I looked you had at least 3 times as many as me, and your score was over twice of mine :(

I do like a challenge, and this is the best one I've had for a long time, although now I've taken away the immediate danger of culture flips from the Aztecs I feel a lot more comfortable. Leonardo's Workshop is waiting for me in the Aztec capital...

So, maybe we will see you two battle a modern war later :)

Or maybe no Player wars at all? ;)

That is not entirely true IMO!

:hmm: read your own log: you were at war with the Aztecs for 12 turns (I estimate, I havent written that down) and with the Babs maybe 24 turns. I had a Bab alliance that I cancelled after expireing, right after that they sued for peace too. The Aztec alliance was very short. You were at war with the Greeks much longer I think. But that was a-far-away-war AFAIK.

The Babylonians arent the strongest anymore because all their units died in Ottoman and Celtic territory. What the Aztecs are doing I dont know. They should have a large army somewhere... Maybe they retalliate your attack next turn.

Remember, I have had embassys all the time...

Some pics of our world for the things discussed above:

Note that the yellow dots are the capitals and that the purple dot was the location of the former Japanese capital (but maybe a little bit further to the south BTW).
