I am currently making a Classical era Greek set, in my new style (which is heavily influenced by another civIII creator) and in the larger town sizes i will have more complicated fortifications.

Here is what i currently have, this is size 1, size 2 and walled 1:

So, should i attach a large fort on the walls in the metropolis, or did they not have those next to the actual wall?

I don't think you need a fort. CivIII doesn't have castles as additional buildings, does it? Haven't played it in a lot of years to remember.

That's not an answer, Cutlass. He is asking if the Greeks had forts next to their walls.

Also, I know I'm not being helpful, but should you not give Athens water access? Or at least a Piraeus-eque port to put those ships in?

Yeah, the former lighthouse design is great!

Greece is mountaineous, when this (with lighthouse) graphic design is applied into shoreline-accurate scenarios, that's...

Sorry, I am too excited about it :crazyeye:

I do like that metropolis better. Much cleaner with everyone crowding inside the walls like that.

Some very minor changes:

To be honest, the previous one is better ... in my opinion.

It neither belongs to Stico's style, nor yours, something new...

The residences are not sufficient and the walls are awfully made (if you don't mind ), and you've used your old creation :/

I suggest the size of statue can be reduced, , and more major structures in the central part, the tomb/memorial looking structure makes me uncomfortable (I don't know if this contributive or not :crazyeye:)

PS: Obviously that's not "very minor" change :p

I love this one~

Sorry but i am not going back to the other style.
Your opinion is overruled, mostly at least, since i happen to like the set as it is now. But i may rework some parts including the walls.

I am really sorry for my irritating words, sorry again, and I hope that you will understand it was not made intentionally, you know, exhausting days... :(

I remembered that my teacher who taught me Integrated Humanities has once said: an ancient Greek city consist of some major components, including: the citywall, the stadium, the theatre, marketplace, Acropolis, houses...The metropolis is a bit dull, hope there will be more infrastructures and entertainment facilities. The base of the statue is too tall, and will look better when centered in a plaza. The houses are tiny and scarce, and where is your logo/signature (like the previous masterpieces you've made?

You have your design in mind already, I am looking forward to your postponed "published" editions :)

Ok, last attempt:

Please realize that i do not care to make 10 perfect sets, but over 40 sets of various cultures, and to do that in little time one needs to automatize some things. So i have to have forms which i can reproduce quickly so that only the modeling of new buildings takes some time ;)
