Ancient Infantry Attack!

Damn, I wonder why that 'ancient' tribe got wiped out when they had technology for riflemen! :P

Like i said, its Yor, the modern age society nuked itself to caveman tech and the surivivors found some shiny assault rifles from the past which is our future :O

Difficult level?

Easier difficult level favors better hut results - GUessing the chance of getting weapon upgrades on newb setting is uber high. Of course, this doesn't excuse this 'bug' and needs to be restricted somehow. But i can't say i've gotten more than 1 upgrade in about 15 huts playing on Prince level.

Here it is

that shouldnt have happened at all. please post a save and I'll report it :)

That would be an awesome mod. Load a saved game from a game thats finished, and you start from scratch but with ruins located in the location the old cities were!

Anyone else notice how broken the "You found ancient weapons to upgrade you unit" ruins are? 78 Turns into a marathon game Babylon declares war on me with a WW2 Infantry unit, needless to say that was a tad one sided, he later went on to pretty much wipe out the entire world with his unkillable super unit :O
Bwahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa... Awesome. :D:D:D:D:D

Also how on earth can you play on marathon? The game is slow enough on normal as it is. :wow:

I unfortunatly don't have a save game of it :O didn't seem meaningful to bother saving a 78/1500 turn loss lol. Found a easy way to replicate it however, just make a huge panginea map but put only a couple civilizations on it so theres tons of ruins and few people to collect them, you'll get lots of upgrades to the warrior your scouting with, btw I was on Noble (my 1st civ4->civ5 game, wanted it easy to test stuff) when I saw the Infantry. Putting it at easier may yeild more upgrade unit type huts, I have no idea. :P

Since there is no noble setting in Civ 5, post the save game or i don't believe it.
diff setting are
settler
chief
warlord
prince
king
emperor
immortal

Best bug ever :P

lmao

But this should be moved to the bugs forum. It was obviously not intended ;)

Actually, this seems to fit with the opening monologue. For Persia, for example, it implies your empire fell and you're restoring it. That would more sense in the future.

They'll probably patch this to only allow upgrades one era ahead of the tech leader or something.

I had this happen on the Demo. Interesting thing was, the Archer kept the scouts 'ignores terrain movement penalty' special ability, making it a cool scout archer.

I wonder if thats working as intended and if it would keep that ability through upgrades? And also if upgraded units keep the abilities of units they are made from?

Ah, cheers for clearing that up for me! I was wondering why my archers could run through forest.

Yeah this happened to me also :) Course then I lost it helping out a City-State :( :(

This might be one of the coolest bugs ever.

is this with Babylon downloaded? or enabled for a game? or when Babylon is actively in the game?...
phew... I will have the deluxe edition with Babylon... hm...

I just wanted to make a post about this.

King difficulty, with the aztecs.

I got 3 ruins with advanced weaponry and my jaguar went -> Spearman -> Pikeman -> Rifleman.

This should be fixed asap, since I obviously just took all the AI's capitals on my mainland. Rifleman oneshot cities in that era.

ps. Screenshots get saved in CV to a tga filetype, so I had to rar it. Also attached a savefile
