In a rather similar story, I do have one game (my epic France Game that I can't stop bragging about every chance I get--eventually I'm going to write an actual story about it, but you can find a partial and sketchy account of some of it here ) which has, miraculously, survived two harddrive crashes for a little over three years now. I completed it about a year ago and I started it a little over two years before that, and it was only a Warlord-level game, but I still have the final save on a floppy disk because of the fond memories it gave...

Like I said, someday I'll do a more detailed writeup, but some of the details are kinda scratchy nowadays.

Another thing too: when I opened the casing up I discovered an AI tank unit jammed in the cooling fan - a last, desperate gasp from an AI which didn't want to lose.
