Animated units come back to life during battle

Hi, I've taken a look at a lot of the posts and haven't seen my particular bug. I was playing Civ IV Gold Edition & Warlords before installing BTS this weekend. Whenever I go into battle, I can't just who's winning by the graphics. You know how each unit has three animated men representing it? (For example, a cavalry has three horses) When it zooms in for the animated battle, often one of them dies, then another dies, then one comes back to life, then the other comes back to life. I often end up winning the battle with all three still standing. This did not happen with Warlords, when the animation died, it stayed dead.

This doesn't seem to affect the results of the battle, but as I'm watching the battle, it is very hard to tell who is winning when my opponent keeps resurrecting himself.

this happened with me too in LAN games with my brother. I could never tell who won until after the battle. I also want to know the cause of this
