cyrus has just declared independence

looking at the reason why he won't become my vassal, he says "your lands are too far away"

given that my lands envelop his, this has to be a bug

i can't - the save is >500KB

if you would like me to mail it to someone i would be happy to do so

crz.CivWarlordsSave:
Your file of 520.5 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 500.0 KB for this filetype.

it will not let me upload because the file is >500KB

civsave.zip:
Your file of 491.2 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 300.0 KB for this filetype.

i cannot win

Why don't you just change the file extension of the zip file to .CivWarlordsSave then? ;)

how do i change the file extension?

i already tried that

it still is recognised as a zip by the uploader

no matter, i went into folder options and option for "view know file extensions"

the file should be attached, it is a ZIP file

Thanks. It's not a bug because you have no cities on his "continent", but I see your point. We'll see what we can do for the patch.

look closer - he has one city surrounded by my empire

What he means is that your lands are too far away from his primary continent. A primary continent is defined as one that either has more than two of his cities, or has his capital.

Alexman i don't know if it is a bug or it is functioning as planned but i have noticed that AI doesn't take in account the master when attacking a vassal .In particular everytime i take a vassal i lost control of my diplomacy because other AI attacks my weak vassal and i'm obliged everytime to enter in war with all the world. While having a lot of fun with all this wars i would like o know if AI will take care about masters before entering war in the next patch.
You have already said that in the next patch masters before accepting a vassal will take in account if they will enter in war with something else, it would make also sense that AI will take in account that declaring war a vassal will means declaring war also to the master, which seems they don't.

Yes, in the patch the AI takes into account their attitude towards both the vassal and master before declaring war on one of them, just as if they were on the same team.

However, I can't remember for sure right now, but I think it's already like that in the current version.

Playing only continents lately, I've seen an AI become vassal of another
AI at the other continent. The master had only 1 or 2 cities founded
at the vassal's continent. Friendly or capitulation, I can't remember.
