Has anything been said about the release of the next patch?

Other than the fact that they are working on it, no. It is not Firaxis' policy to give a date.

I think it's a good policy...why paint yourself into a corner?

I agree, look what happened last time when they were a few days late on the release of the first patch. Talking about a civil upheaval!!

It was a recreation of what happens in civilization 3 when you have more unhappy faces then happy faces... the city goes into complete anarchy and starts destroying things :P

Or worse... joins your enemys...

Did they even say that they were working on another patch.

Yes. I saw a post from Sirian saying they are going to modify the icons in the interface to be text AND icons, because they have received feedback that icons-only is confusing.

So, yeah, there'll be another patch. Hey, Age of Mythology was patched AT LEAST 10 times due to balance issues....let's hope they get cIV right a bit quicker than that.

Actually I hope they fix some of the trying to Play Save Game issues, a friend of mine is having horrible problems and none of the suggested fixes or the patch have helped and his machine meets the recommended specs too.

I personnally don't care about balance issues; it's the simple fact that the game is still buggy and keep crashing on a lot of machines that bothers me. I really hope firaxis is still investigating these problems and will address them as soon as possible, because I don't know how many games I had to abandon because I couldn't play more than a few turns before having to reboot.

I haven't heard anything about another patch, but one would assume they are working on one. The first patch failed to fix the crashing issue(s), so that should be their top priority. Adding other improvements is fine, as long as it doesn't slow down the fixes to the critical problems.

I see what you did there;)

I think 1.09 will pan well for a while before the next patch comes out. There is no show-stopper bugs that I know of (aside from some minor stability or compatibility issues some ppl are still facing, but nowhere near the scope of the first release).

Soren has said in another thread that civilopedia will change to icon+text. That's good news.

So just wait. I'm sure there are still balancing issues, but before you find out or become bothered the patch should be out already.

Actually the problems that were in the original release are still there...they weren't addressed by the patch at all. And they aren't minor either.
