In case you've never noticed, the Civ4 automatically switches view to an angle when playing a movie. That's why the minimap looks angled.

Hi maniac,

I installed fraps and managed to record better quality movies, this time directly from playuv15. They should be used to replace the ones that had pixelated graphics. The only problem is that the first frames are slightly delayed, but the effect is almost unoticeable.

Luttinen was Aki Zeta-Five's original name, before the AI implant took hold.

Downloading the first file now! I'll include a test in the next patch to see if my method to let the movie screen adjust to the video's x-y ratio works. Remember I can't test this myself until I get a better computer, so I'll need you to tell me if the movie doesn't look distorted.

I won't include movies in the Planetfall download. Rather I would point people to the locations where you have uploaded the movies, and give them instructions where they need to place the files.

PS: Totally off topic, but why is Aki-Z called Luttinen on later versions?

SMAC's origin story for the Consciousness is silly and anachronistic within SMAC's own universe, as sentient AIs aren't developed until very late in the tech tree. To let the Consciousness make more sense in Planetfall, rather than a bunch of people being taken control of involuntarily by some AI, the Consciousness are people who voluntarily decide to embrace cybernetic implants. This means that when the Consciousness is founded in-game with this goal, when Memetics is researched, the required cybernetic technology doesn't exist yet and the original Consciousness members are still all fully human. Hence it makes more sense for AKi to start out with her real name. Also note that for this same reason I never refer to the Consciousness in Planetfall as the *Cybernetic* Consciousness, but simply "the Consciousness" period. This also leaves open the possibility that they seek an experience of collective consciousness not through means of cybernetics, but rather psionics or genetics.

The Virtual World movie is damaged for me and starts to malfunction some 10 seconds into the movie. Can sylandro or anyone who has downloaded part 4 of the movies confirm this?

I downloaded this pack. WinRar can't even unpack the VW movie on my end. It gives a "damaged" report when trying to unpack or play it (directly in the packed version in the latter case).

I've downloaded the movie packs, but can't seem to enable them. I've placed them in the proper directory, and the 'no movies' option is not checked. I tried with both the 'Intros' and 'Wonders' subfolders, and also with all the movies just dropped into that main folder (\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Art\Movies). Am I missing something, or perhaps does it just not like 64-bit Window 7?

Q: Where do I need to place and extract the BIK movie files I just downloaded?

A: You need to place them in Beyond the Sword/Mods/Planetfall v13/Assets/Art/Movies. The files have been archived into .rar format, so you'll probably need WinRAR to extract them.

What computer/graphics board do you use? Has your computer a free AGP-Slot, enough power (+300 Watt?) or is it a Laptop?
