Hi
I was wondering if anyone else is having these issues:

Firstly: I Click the desktop icon for CBE(points to DX11.exe), and the steam client window opens up then the game sometimes runs(1-2 minutes later) sometimes not and I get a small window that show the text to either play the game or quit.
When I click on play the game most of the time it just sits there and does nothing, and once in a while it will just shuts the little window down and nothing happens. I have been able to play the game sometimes by opening up the steam client window directly, and clicking play in offline mode, then the game opens up the smaller window with options to play or not.(click play and I am in).

Secondly: In the steam client window for all my other games steam keeps track of the amount of time I have played whether it be online or offline. With CBE it does not keep track. I have played over 100+ hours "all offline" except 7 online on day 1, and when I login to online to play today it still reads only 7 hours as of last Friday, even though I have been playing continually every day since the first day! Just not updating the time played.

Very weird.:crazyeye: I have reinstalled the game and checked the files with steam checking system all should be in order. I also have mentioned this problem to Steam but they have not got back after 5 days so far.

Mostly just curious if anyone else is having something similar happening.

Whenever I have problems with steam similar to what you describe I either go into task manager and delete every steam process or just reboot. One time though this didn't work: steam would start a game and then nothing even after reboot it still would start the games then nothing. So finally I uninstalled and reinstalled steam and it worked fine after that--something you might consider trying.
Steam can be a pain like when I got a larger SSD and was able to move all my games to it but I had to find a way to edit some steam files to get it to recognize the moved games (since it would have taken weeks to redownload everything, steam support was no help I had to find the method in someone's blog).

I've never had steam keep track of my offline hours it certainly doesn't in Civ5. If you want, just leave the game open in the background and let the hours go up while you're web surfing ;) ...which is why I find the hours played not terribly useful.

@darkskies
So you don't think that the hours are being kept? Is that "at all" or just some of the hours like mine did?

It shows 7 hours played "Last Friday" but it has said that since the following Saturday after release. It's like something broke in steam or the game directory, So like I mentioned I reinstalled the game and also just did the "Check the files" thingy.

It still does not recognize the plus 100 hours into the game so I will try the Steam uninstall and hope it does not do the same thing it did the last time I uninstalled Steam. It erased all my games and I had to reinstall all of them.

Like you that would take hours... More than I am willing to put up with.

Hopefully the first patch of the game will take this issue on also.

Thanks!

First you can save your games before deleting steam so you don't have to reinstall them (you can find details for this on steam).
Second yes, I've never seen it track my offline hours for either Civ5 or Sins of a Solar Empire or KSP.

I have never seen the save game feature to work. I tried it once and had to reinstall anyways.

Thanks.
