The only people getting it today might be pirates... How can anyone get the game a day before it ships out of the warehouse?

Usually games are already shipping or in the shipping process not long after the GOLD announcement. Employees at EB, Gamestop, etc etc are the ones that actually leak the cd online or to pirating friends.... or in some cases--just a good friend that knows they'll keep their mouth shut about it. I would say 50% of the people's copy, that have preordered, are already in/arriving at the pickup stores today--BUT legally/technically can't be sold due to the release date being tomorrow.

On the shipping methods for home delivery--those are usually HELD until the day of release--OR shipped late enough that they know people will not be getting it until tomorrow morning (at the earliest). Of course mistakes can be made and it's possible someone might get theirs today through UPS/FEDEX but improbable.

These statements are made from product shipping/release date experience (brick and mortar exp)

There will be a few lucky people that are very good friends with their local EB employees that will have it today though--guaranteed.

Man - called EB and they said there was a problem with my credit card and it was declined - glad I checked it out they said they would run it again and EMAIL me if it failed again. Hold head in hands and sighs. Guess I don't know when I will be getting it now. BUMMER!

PS well I got it straightened out by being proactive and finding the exact problem - fixing it, calling back EB and having them run it again - o and upgraded to overnight so I should get it tomorrow.
Listen if you move please update your address to your bank and or credit card company or you might be wondering why it didnt get accepted and the game didnt come. LOL.

Had the same problem a month or so ago after moving into a new place. Figured being proactive would be a good idea. Glad I could help.

not promising anything though, so don't go all "omgtrollflameflameflame" on me if I don't have it later.

I preordered (So I pre-own it ) the special edition (I hope) on amazon. It should be here any time this wee. I am not anxious about it. It doesn't matter to me if it doesn't arrive until this Saturday.

As of 5:43 AM Pacific, Gamestop.com tells me that my order is 'Processing', whatever the heck that means.

See, a statement like that doesn't bother me *at all* ... It's when someone goes, "Uhduh, I'm gettin' it Sunday" and doesn't explain why when challenged that I get rubbed the wrong way.

A: Yes, it will be on the truck by end of business today.

No, that's true....you'd pop in the dvd and watch it spin round and round and never even start the install. You have a nervous breakdown right off the bat instead of after 5 minutes of glory.

eb games had my order listed as open. Called the store and confirmed it will be available tomorrow

Yeah my order says to be shipped on the 24th, arrival date of the 25th. Seeing as the business day for the 24th is already more than half over on the east coast and it has not been shipped yet I'm thinking the 26th is a more realistic expectation. That's OK though I have a couple of Civ3 games I am hoping to complete once and for all before I get Civ4 anyway.
