anyone want to play?

Anand wipes his glasses on the hem of his shirt before <u>snapping</u> off the pawn in a single smooth motion.

There's no need to be intimidated: I lose all the time.

the "smooth" capture knocks Smash's coffee into his lap causing him to fall over backwards in his chair. On the way down,he grabs a leg of the table which sends the board flying and scatters the pieces over the floor. The match is delayed as 1 white pawn cannot be found.A small rock is substituted and the game continues

There is mixed reaction from the spectators. Algie momentarily wonders if the table leg was a blunder with long term consequences, but is quick to spot that the rock must be offside and plunges into his pond to unravel an old code.

Cautiously skirting about the coffee stains on the carpet, Anand makes a token effort to help pick up the pieces. When all is straightened out he resumes his seat. The queen move is made with considerably less elan than the previous one.

Yes, it certainly feels critical

By the way, how do you produce those screenshots? Is there some native Windows utility that does this?

yes you can take pictures of anything on your screen.Either the whole thing, any window or any portion. Can't remember how to on a pc though
smile.gif
.On a mac you hold command+shift+3 0r 4.can't remember the other one.

Then you use something like photoshop(any graphics utility will do) to save it as a .jpeg or .gif
Then upload the image to my webspace or here(if 20mb or smaller).
Then just encase the url of the image in ubb image tag.{img}url here{/img} using [ and ] instead of { and }

I stumbled across this originally posted by DaveV at Poly

OK, here's how I do it: press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. This creates an image of the screen in the Windows paste buffer. Open the Windows Paint program, and paste in the screen image using Ctrl-V or the pull-down menu command. Select the portion of the screen you want to display, paste it into another copy of Paint, and save it as a .GIF (smaller file = faster page load). Next, upload the .GIF file to a website. Right-click on the shortcut to the file once it's uploaded, and select "copy shortcut". Paste that URl into your message, surround it with the appropriate [img=] stuff, and voila!

darn it..my next move is in the last post on the 2nd page
it is dxe4

Sorry about the delay in posting -- been busy the past few days, and this very complicated game isn't helping any...

In fact Rfd8 is the least exciting of the alternatives I came up with; all the others look too dangerous. Makes me wonder if I've outsmarted myself with 20..Qa5.

Thanks for the screenshot tip. Works like a charm.

I take it from your question that you consider white's chances to be superior in this position
wink.gif

I'm inclined to agree -- at least, I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable in this position.

We'll know in a few moves...

..no I mean I'm not sure what is going on

I do feel comfortable though
