I have just been strangled (arrrrgggggggh!) by some Apostles from another civ - trouble is, when I mouse over them, they appeared to be from the city-state of Jerusalem. I mean they had hundreds of rogue apostles. I had no chance. Is this a thing with city-states now - I had imagined they would not have such resources.

Quite frankly, its been a bad enough day all round, what with snow in the midlands and all those leaves falling. Fortunately nothing else massively bad happened today

from the other thread, apostles can be healed at the holy site!. So recruit some with +20 to combat promotion, fight and reheal. Done deal.

And since this is defending your own territory; Inquisitors are much more cost effective; they'll also heal at holy sites.

This is what I like doing. In my present Rome game I am making Saladin furious for converting his cities. How do I do that? I forward settled him built a holy site, picked pantheon of healing and put an inquisitor in the holy site. Every couple of turns a new apostle shows up and promptly suicides against my inquisitor healing each turn in the holy site converting more and more of the nearby cities.
