Now that would be a solution:
All Deputies and helpers as well as normal offices get nobility for free. But no title.
They can then purchase a title at a discount price.

That's fine with me, dis. Except for the discount part - that's right out.

People can say they're whatever they want. This thread is just for tracking titles and the benefits/restrictions thereof.

So in order to be noble, you have to have a house?

Edit: Just remembered you start out with one... :D

I would like to join then.

Yes, you need a house for everything except squire. You also need lands for the higher positions.

Right now you qualify for squire, which gets you in the door and poised for knighthood. The investiture is 200g and you'll get 5g per chat from noble holdings. You could either pay the 200g directly or (much better) spread the wealth through roll playing events.

Let me know if you'd like to go for squire and if you have any other questions.

Well, I don't think I really have the money right now so....I might actually join when I get more.

Dear Sir Shaitan, the Crusade will propably need some sponsoring for not so well-situated knights and other nobles. Maybe you could give out some cheap loans to buy weaponry to those who cant afford it?

Maybe we could even get the money together to buy every crusader a cheap horse, a sword and a shield?

Well, what I am planning to do is get enough money to buy a larger place to live and then become a knight.

i will pay and train squires to accompany me to on the war against the aztecs. contact me if interested

I have offered to arm and sponsor 3 squires to accompany me on this valiant quest.

Per disorganizer's suggestions I have altered the freebie title list. It now conforms to the general levels of authority:
Code:
Office Title Active	Title Retired

President King Prince
VP/Leader/RPG Manager Earl/Duke	Count/Baron
Elected/Confirmed Officials	Count/Baron	Knight
Unconfirmed Officials Knight Squire
Top dog is the King.
Second tier is the VP, Leaders and RPG Managers.
Third tier is other elected officials (deputies) and confirmed officials (appointed and confirmed by public poll).
Fourth tier are all unconfirmed officials.

Now that I have a large house in Bavaria I'd like to be a knight. Do I have to join an order or do I just pay the investiture?

donsig, you'll need to pay the investiture whether you join an order or not. Instead of making a straight investiture payment you can spend that money in role playing endeavors. Examples would be the current Crusade and the Great Hunt at the Marillion. The key thing to remember there is the investiture must be spent on other people.

Shaitan - For the Tourneyment I will become a Knight. I own four land tiles and a large house. Here is the 400g investiture. I believe I have just been Knighted.

Sir Cyc, of the Milzeners in Upper Lausitz, leaders of men in war and peace. Part of the Wend, who marched with the Goths during the Great Migration. Descendents of the Merovee Clan with bloodties to the Lady of Gefion of Denmark, jewel of the Baltic. We have the same bloodties with the Thingelannd Clan, where rumors of Berserks and Hirthmen sprinkle our past. It has even been said that we are off-spring of Godwulf himself.

But these are things of the past. I do not speak of them now. I am a long forgotten prodigal son of a distant, powerful tribe.

See me now as a Knight of the Realm...
