Hello all,
In my new role as World Congress Host I've also taken on curating responsibility for the Mods Repository subforum.
The following changes will be made in the coming days:
1) Old threads that haven't had discussion in many years, or mods that are obsolete or otherwise likely to be incompatible with current VP will be moved to a new "Mods Archive" sub-subforum.
2) New "prefix" tags will be added so that mods can be tagged for ease of browsing. We will start with "Custom Civ, New Feature, Extension, Mapscript, UI" options (and untagged for "other")
3) We will request that the subforum is exclusively used to post mods that are finished or actively in development, and not for planning, discussion, or otherwise. I.e. please keep the Repository exactly that. Use this general forum for discussion, or join the Discord (where this sort of thing has mostly moved to anyway)
Later, when 5.0 releases there will be a fairly mass-incompatibility period as many back-end things are changing in the code.
5.0 release will come with this disclaimer.
Active modders will have to update their mods to become 5.0 compatible.
After some period (probably related to the congress cycle) mods that aren't updated will be moved to the Archive. If they are updated later they'll be moved back accordingly.
Hopefully this will make browsing the rich and diverse offerings of the VP modding community much easier and save everyone a lot of time.
Cheers, Hokath
p.s. if I move something to the archive and you think it shouldn't be there, just send me a message and I'll move it back.
