Archos assassin suggestion.

That is a good point BUT is their poison use due to a natural affinity (i.e. they smear their weapons with it) or a natural ability (they spit poison at their foes) when they attack?

If it is an affinity I would say that the Archos should have some cool assassin uu, if a natural ability well, then the Archose should have come cool assassin uu.

It does seem to me that their natural poison strength shoudl lend archos well to using assasins.

Why? Poisons don't equal stealth or subtlety or anything other than a way to cause more damage. If the Archos were to get a UU in the assassin slot, it wouldn't have marksman or any invisibility related ability. The poisons tech would be appropriate for a "Chosen" with a particularly venemous mutation, but is there a need for that (another Archos unit with poison)?

But poison use does equal subtlety of a kind, it all depends however how that civ uses the poison. Also didn't you (or someone equally mod-goddish) say that the Archos have an emphasis on recon...doesn't that mean that they have stealth by definition?

Recon doesn't always equal stealth. It's quite possible to have a recon unit that simply forces it's way through everything, rather than sneaking. :p

No offense, but that doesn't make much sense really.

Sorry, I am just going off of the pedia text which says that the huntsman spend weeks in the wilds of Erebus stalking prey with their pet spider buddies. Sounds like a stealth nut to me.

How does it not make sense? Yes, normally a unit will recon by sneaking around an enemy camp..... But why shouldn't there be a unit that recons by blundering in and checking them out up close?
The Hippus would be a better example of a "blundering" recon...also known as recon in force (a.k.a a heavily armed recon force that really does not care if they end up engaging the enemy...) real life examples beyond the U.S. military include the Mongols...

There is nothing in the lore beyond their barbarian (what does that mean to this discussion anyway) status that suggests the Archos have clumsy recon units...after all their recon line is one of their main lines so how clumsy are they really?

Again, I am simply arguing from the pedia (which mentions their stealthiness) so it is not unreasonable for people to wonder why they should not have an assassin uu.
