Are cracks illegal if you have purchased the game.

First off, I would like to say, I'm not GOING to do this if it's illegal, but a long time ago, I bought all of the Civilization III games, and I also bought Conquests. But now my cd-drives aren't working, and I can't play the game. Now this may sound funny to you, but I can take a picture of myself holding the box, and the cd for the game, just to prove that I've bought it. So, would it be illegal for me to download and install a crack for the game?

Yes it would still be illegal. You're going to have to have your CD drives fixed.
