This is my first post on this forum, so I would like to say hello. I have been a modder for quite some time, although not for this game. I mod games from the command and conquer series. Why am I here then? Well civilization has been one of my favorite games of all time. I have one problem though, I hate to wait for my turn! Therefore, I have set out to make the beloved turn based game into a full fledged rts! Since this site is for Civ Fanatics, I just thought I'd let you know. The mod will be a total conversion for Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge. I will try to to keep true to Civ as much as I can, but many things may not carry over. Wish me luck!

lol, yea it's real.

I'm not really gonna do "ages" per se. I'm gonna go hardcore civ and progress through technology. You resreach a tech, and then you get what the tech has, just like in Civ. I've always found "lets research the stone age!" a bit strange as it was in AoE. Picture this as Civ without turns, and you build alot more guys.

But RA2/YR doesn't have techs.

YR has prerequisites. So if I made a building called "Bronze Working" and you build it, then that could serve as a prerequisite for spearmen. To tell you the truth, I think RockPatch (someone hacked the executable and added a bunch of stuff) allows for upgrades, techs, and the likes.

If all fails, then I can just make a killer campaign.

Looks great, but why are G.I's and wardogs at the same time as warriors and archers?

That is because I have yet to reomove those units. They are part of the original game. Later on I'll start talking about game mechanics. Just a few questions:

1) How many of you have Yuri's Revenge?

2) What is the file upload size limit here?

3) If I wanted my mod to be hosted here, who do I ask?

4) Would you guys like a short demo?

2:Not sure, but I advise using something like AtomicGamer to upload your thing. Most people here use that or something like it.

I think the limit is 10mb, but they may have upped that recently to 20mb.
I would post a thread on the creation an d let the moderator let you know about hosting.

I have Yuri, but is not currently installed on this pc. I still have the Decade dvd installed on the other systems and it also has YR. The boss lady is off today, so I am on my backup pc.
