I know you can name the units that produce GLs, but how do you rename the army that you create? I have seen this in several threads in the stories&tales forum and was wondering how to do it.

Highlight it and I think ctrl+n or shift+n, you can rename any unit this way.

It's Shift-N. I usually do rename Armies just for the look. It's always cool to name one of my Armies "Derlin" or something...

I rename all of my Elite Units even if they did not produce a hero yet. Its fun having 22th Republican Legion or Marseille Regiment or 3 NKVD Division. I also have a unit that represents me :).
Babbler trust me PTW has the rename function. Try (as it was said here) to turn on the "advanced options".

Of course the Unit I usually have to represent myself ends up dying first... And it seems wrong just making another one...

I said that Civilization III (vanilia) does not have that --- only Play the World and Conquests. I should know -- I have PTW. And I did turn on advance options.

I always enjoy calling a tank army "Thomas the Tank Regiment"

Other good names for armies:
"Shock & Awe"
"The Pillage People"
"Team Discovery Channel"
"The Harlem Globetrotters"
"The A-Team"
"The Mod Squad"
"Teh 1337 h4xX0R5"

In [ptw] and [c3c]. [civ3] does not have the rename unit fun'c. It was only used for the elite unit after generating a GL, and I think the GL and army itself.

I only play PtW and c3c I know you can rename units in PtW, I don't know about the other 2.

"The Pillage People"
Does that mean you have found a way to add a (construction) worker to your army? Where do you find a biker and a cowboy? Anyway, I like the name.

Sorry Babbler I didn't see the dot  :)...

Simple, you mod it!

Perfection, I think that he meant "The Pillage People" is very similar to
"The Village People".

Perfec. I think he meant that your "The Pillage People" is very similar to
The Village People (The music group that did the: In the Navy and YMCA songs) :p

I generally have "advanced options" active, so all I need to do is click the button that says "ABC" and I can rename the unit currently highlighted. I love renaming armies, though -- like, say, "Hamilcar's Infantry Corps I" or "Tojo's Samurai Corps III" and stuff...

Me too ;) :D - Love the advanced button options

I think Perfection got my funny and was giving me an equally smart aleck response. ;)
