just out of curiosity: why is everyone using sand-lions as their tier 2 summon? personally, i recon specters do the job a lot better. They may start out low, but improve with each death-mana you gain. On larger maps, it's really not that tough to gain str. 8 specters. Unless you run into a death-immune enemy, you're in a lot better position. And as an added bonus: they can be summoned on every terrain, not just desert.

And as another added bonus. They got fear.

you cant build boys who summon spectres straight out, they need some nurturing..

But you can build ritualists, who summon sand lions, can use ring of fire and medic at the same time. Ritualists are another thing that makes AV overpowered..

Ooh, my bad then.. I've never gone AV myself for the ritualist spam, tried AV only in sp, and never had to do much... only been on the receiving end in MP so far

another bonus of working with affinity: your adepts may still need some nurturing, but they start of with death 3 straight away, leading to some very powerfull rather early conjurers/summoners/eaters of dreams (depending on the civ you're playing). but yeah, the destroy undead is a real killer against this strat.

Your adepts never start with the third level spell sphere promotion for free, just the second one.

still better than having to spend another 2 promo's on getting them... by the time you've hit your 3rd level summoner you should already have lvl 5 combat + extension

Sand Lions can spot hidden units, that's why they are very handy.
