Ask "Kael" Questions for PolyCast

oh, you want this posted on the poly board... I'll have to do that later...
That was the original intention, but several community members have been copying questions posed here and putting them in the official thread on Poly. It's covered. :) (This 'requirement' will be dropped if and when we have future interviews of this nature. :mischief:)

Thanks to all for the questions so far! ~8 1/2 hours to go as of this writing.

...princess rule :gripe:
I didn't understand your comment before I had a listen to the polycast.

I think if you got together with Sureshot, she might be willing to add a few "princess" units to the game; My Pretty Pony, Hello Kitty, and maybe even a fantasy Barbie hero. :goodjob:
EDIT: Christian Strip Poker
   WTH?

EDIT: Christian Strip Poker

This is really one of the best games I ever heard of. I'll have to try this next week when we go on school trip to Czech :D Not only you don't have to worry about loosing, it's morally right!
What confused me a bit is how they pronounce 'Kael', I always knew how it's supposed to be read, but I read it on more 'Croatian' way. Svartalfar... Luchiruip-Just like I read them.
And Kael really got job offers :goodjob:
And we'll get TWO new religions!

Thought I'd post this here rather than in the BtS sub-forum: I pronounce Luchuirp with a Scottish 'ch' sound, like in 'loch'. Also, I noticed the names don't sound good in English :) I like to pronounce them with a more Latin approach, clearer vowels and stuff like that. It's more natural for me because I'm a native speaker of a Romance language, plus Latin is usually associated with that Dark Ages feeling.

Oh, and what was that first religion of the two? I didn't quite get it.

The Empyrean

I'm pretty sure that what they said on polycast was correct-ae is long e in Latin. It sounds like when R. Kelly calls himself 'Kells' :D I personally used to read it like I would in Croatian- that is, K-a-e-l, even though I knew that it's wrong because I thought word it just too short to cut one more letter, heh. But I like Kells to :p

The diphthong "ae" is not the long e sound in Latin, it sounds like the word "eye." Your way is however, the right way to mispronounce it (i.e., it is right in the Ecclesiastical method of pronunciation) In the Ecclesiastical method, there is no difference between the e, ae, and oe sounds, and other vowels are often mispronounced although theoretically the same. It also changes the pronunciation of some consonants (like c,g,s, and x) and consonant groups (bs,bt,cc,gg,sc,su,ti) under some circumstances but not under others. These mispronunciations often lead to misspellings, which led to more mispronunciations. I much prefer the classical system, which is almost perfectly phonetic. I tend to pronounce everything in FfH the Classical Latin way (with the exception of often still using the English ch, th, and v sounds).

If pronounced classically, "Kael" is pronounced just like the name Kyle.

Kael is pronounced "K + ale", such that it rhymes with Dale or Rail (as in railroad).
