Sindar looks at Vandal over the blade Vandal holds between them.
"I don't want to fight you. Ofcourse not. Even though I have more skills than it appears, and certainly more than the guards that are after you, I am certain I would be throwing my life away."
Sindar actually manages to smile at Vandal.
"However, you must realize that going around slaughtering people to get what you want is not the right way of doing things. I can understand if you feel the government is letting you down, and I have no need to throw my life in the defense of a king I don't really care for..."
Sindar looks closely at Vandal.
"I do, however, care for the people I think you are aiming for. I am thinking of persons supporting the Monarchy or who you believe are supporting the Monarchy.
First of all, there is my brother. I know him very well, and I know that you know him rather well too. I count on you not to harm him. Despite his devotion and practice, he would not last long against a foe like you."
Sindar continues, talking faster now:
"Second, one of my good friends, Seidrik. I know he was the former king, and I know you, by principle, have something against him because of that. But if you attempt to kill him, I will not hesitate to attempt to kill you. Poisonious snakes, ambush parties, falling rocks and trees. You will be living the rest of your life looking back over your shoulder."
Sindar has worked himself into a louder voice now, almost yelling. He turns it down a bit and looks at Vandal.
"Remember, you are the hero of the people. And they do not trust a man who kills innocents. I trust you will make no such atrocity. Am I right?"
