At last, Civ soundtrack...

Ok, it's done. I've finally got my Macintosh again and I've ripped all the Civ sounds, including the legendary opening or the awesome Beethoven 9nth themes. I've also the combat sounds, so everything. I thought somebody would be interested in having them all, right? Just tell me. Oh, all are 44Khz AIFF format. But I can easily convert them into Windows Wav compatible format. Or even MP3.

Also a question, Thunderfall. I'd like to post one of these sounds (perhaps the most famous, the opening theme) here. Is it possible (do you allow me) to do that? Or is it illegal? I need your clearance.

I'll think it over. It's probably okay. The thing is, when you copyright a piece of music, you can either copyright the written score or a certain recording of it. Now, the score is a hundred years old so we have no fear about Beethoven's heirs hunting us down, but for that matter the scores don't even matter in this case. It only matters if Microprose copyrighted their recording of it, which I doubt they did. I'll check with the documentation I have that came with the game and see if it says anything about music. You can also check your game docs for copyright info or possibly during the boot sequence.

And, by the way, I'm the moderator of this forum *and* the webmaster of the civ1 site. You don't need to get Thunderfall, thank you very much.

These sounds are to be listened to using a player (winamp, media player...) i don't think it's possible to hack them into the pc version of civ...
