Do not download the Catalyst Control Center - instead download the package with "Control Panel".
I have found that the Catalyst Control Center causes issues on my PC - it does not play well with MS .Net framework. Use the Control Panel instead.
I am able to load the game ....but I still have the Cheshire Cat syndrome. According to srtest I have hardware T & L so this is not the issue here.
