OK you asked for it. Using GOM OCC see if you can conquer or dominate the world.

Rules.
1. No altering of the game.
2. You may reload.
3. You may not build settlers.
4. You may accept flips and goodie hut settlers
5. You can conquer and keeps cities.
6. Finish earliest.
7. Brag about being the nastiest, back-stabbing conqueror the world has ever seen.
8. Enjoy

I'm game.

Will try after the GOTM11. Hope they switch off the respawn feature.

I tried a OCC conquest on the GOTM10 map, but the respawning stopped it dead in it's tracks!

I think enable keeping conquered cities will make the game too easy.

What we want is the Ultimate Challenge!:cool:

And we should adhere to GOTM rule and NOT allow reloading.

Other rules are fine to me.

Maybe I will give it a try.:D :king:

Ozymandius, do you play the GOTM always this way, or after playing it normally? You know reloading is not allowed, right?

I played an OCC last night and enjoyed it. Too bad this site was down last night so I could have read the rules. I got 2 hut settlers and added them to Paris, wanted to place them at luxuries. Also, I would have kept the conquered cities. A lot of players kept talking about respawning. I have not had that happen yet. Played GOTM10 4 times and no respawning. In my 1st game I took out the Aztecs's 2 cities, Russia's 4, don't remember how man America had, Rome only had 5, and not a single respawning. I like respawning, it adds pictures to my conquered wall!

Objective:
Conquer the world.

My ruleset:

1. Reloading is not allowed. Replaying is allowed.

That is, you can always replay from the START of the game. But you can't reload for your wrong decisions or combat advantage.

2. As to add cities:
You cannot build settlers.
You cannot keep conquered cities.
You can use goody hut settlers to build cities.
You can culture flip cities.
You can accept and keep cities on a deal set on the diplomacy table.

Interesting uh? :D

3. Miscellaneous:
Exploits allowed in the GOTM are allowed, exploits disallowed in the GOTM are disallowed.
Editing the game or the savegame is not allowed.
Note if you want to submit the GOTM, you should have played the normal game before you start this, else you won't be able to submit the GOTM game.

Additional rule - UNESCO asked for it: :p

You can keep cities with a Wonder of the World in it, as to sponsor UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage protection program.:lol:

Done with the GOTM 10 map.:goodjob:

Conquest victory 1690, 1912 pts.

End up with 20+ cities. 3 are built by settlers(two goody hut ones), 4 came from culture flip, 6 have wonders in it, get the key of the others' gate on the diplomatic table.

Although it seems a lot, actually 6 of it just came in the last century I played, I was in a big trouble at the 7 century, but managed to done it.:king:

It makes fun. I am quite surprised that no others are interested in this game.:confused:

And the other good thing is, the savegame is so small that I can put it in the attachment, so why not?:D

Actually, aside from respawning AIs, conquest on GOTM 10 map isn't all that difficult. Especially if you allow building cities with settlers from huts and accepting culture flips and traded cities. OCC means one city, and I would be very strict about it. I do agree with UNESCO, so I would allow any city with a Great Wonder to be captured or flipped. I disagree with the city from a hut though, because with OCC you are more likely to get a settler out of a hut. Just add the settler to your capital. If you want those out-of-reach luxuries, build a colony.

Have you tried OCC Space Race on GOTM 10 map? I failed at least four times, but came painfully close once.

I have played GOTM10 and GOTM11 as OCC, and these are the rules I use:

- settlers from villages cannot found new cities;
- flips are always refused;
- conquered cities are immediately abandoned (no selling of improvements, workers disbanded) or razed;
- cities cannot be received by diplomacy.

Atilla the Hun started from central Asia and destroyed, raped and pillaged then settled in Europe. I was hoping to find a way to conquer the world starting with one city but finding a way to keep conquered cities.
My reload allowance kept the playing field equal so that no-one could accuse another of cheating and to handicap those brilliant few who can play this game without making mistakes.
This comes only after players have already played GoM where no reloading is allowed. Many will remember location of goodie huts & resources from first play results.

Without changing rules I certainly can't conquer the world with only one city. I was hoping for standard pillaging rules;)
