Audio glitch/bug

Ive got a general scratchy noise, that is particularly noticeable on the music, but also to a lesser degree on other sound effects. It has happened b4 on either warlords or vanilla - cant remember which one. But after some patches, they were fixed. But now the scratchy sound is back.

It is easy to hear, or happens more often when multiple soundeffect are played at the same time. The sound isnt suddenly loud or distorted, its just a scatchy sound like a bad reseption on an FM-radio...

OH THANK GOD! I have this same exact problem Toft, and I can't figure out what the hell is wrong with it. It is especially bad when I have other leaders screens open and their music is playing. It also noticeable when I first start the game and the intro music begins. The music stutters and skips, but it's not my computer because I haven't had any problems with the sound anywhere else and I just got a new computer that can easily handle playing Civ. So yes toft, you're not alone... Now we just need to wait for someone to fix it!

Yeah, I got the same problem. But I haven't installed the patch yet. Does anyone know if that fixes it?

I had it too, if you turn down the graphics it will be better, its your comp working overtime so it cant send good signals to your amp/speakers

I tried this, and it worked. I just turned AA from 4 to 0.

I have the same problem and i can only play the game whit out sound

got the sound bug on Civ IV after the patch also

Yeah, I have this, too...I'll check the graphics and see if that helps.

Try updating your sound drivers. In some case, for integrated audio, this is updating the motherboard drivers.
