Audio/Video problems

The whole sequence from loading, through the intro-video to the start game-screen is (don`t know a good English worrd for it), well, it skips. A lot!

And I don`t have any controls in the audio-part of the options screen. It is just completely blank...

I run the game on a AMD Mobile Sempron laptop, with a Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics card and 2GB worth of RAM. CIV4 and the Warlords expansion works smoothly on it. Am I doing something wrong (I`m a complete novice when it comes to computers), is there something wrong with my copy of the game (it is original BTW) or is my computer just too slow?

this sounds like a botched patch install - what does the about this build in the advanced section say?

have you tried updating to 3.13?
If so this is not correct it should read
Civ Version 313
and
Build Version: 3.0.0.1
IF you tried patching and it did not work I fear only reinstalling will be an option

Thank you for your help. I`ve installed the patch and now my audio controlls work. I guess the video problem is just something I have to live with unless I want to reinstall the whole game...
