Hi, I've just completed my Australia Plus Mod, I know its not the first Aussie Mod.
That honour belongs to Charcoal who did a fantastic job.
To see his mod just follow the link below:
Charcoal's Australian Civ
No disrespect intended but I just wanted some different leaders to pick from. Preferably no recent politicians.
I also just wanted to try my hand at modding and since I'm an Aussie that was my Civ of choice. Hope you like it.
Let me know what can be improved and what needs fixing and if possible how.
I'm a real noob at modding but I'm sure I can improve.
Below is the readme text, it goes into a bit more detail:
Australia Plus Civ 4 Mod v0.50 by john0452 (compatable with patch 1.52)
Features:
Australian Civ - Start with Mining and Agriculture - Our primary industries
Leader 1 - Charles Kingsford Smith (Creative/Expansive) - Good old Smithy, never a leader but one of our hero's
Leader 2 - John Curtin (Expansive/Organized) - The only politician I could bring myself to include
Unique Wonder - Snowy Mountains Scheme - Production +5%, Growth +5% & Culture +5% (150% increased cost from 1750 to 2625)
Unique Unit - Worker (Australian Fast Worker) 3 moves/turn (Modern Workers/re-skinned/blue overalls)
Unique Unit - Light Horse (Australian Cavalry/re-skinned/green) 50% withdrawal probability, removed NoDefensiveBonus (150% increased cost from 120 to 150)
Installation:
1) Copy the entire mod folder(...\Australia Plus) into "Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization IV\Mods\" folder.
2) Load the game. Remember to hold down the [SHIFT] key during start up to clear the cache the first time you use this mod or any new mod.
3) Go to the Advanced Menu.
4) Choose Load a Mod.
5) Select Australia Plus.
6) Let the game restart when prompted.
7) Then play as normal. For MP all players in game must have this mod installed and active.
Special thanks to:
1) Jecrell - for his excellent ‘HOW TO Create a Civilization’ tutorial and his ‘Carthage Mod’ that I pulled apart to discover how to make a mod ‘the right way’
2) Charcoal - for the original 'Australian Civ'
3) CFC - everyone for all the interesting and informative posts I have read/referenced
