just was curious if it was better to put workers in automate or, control them on your own :/ ( i put mine on auto cause the comps smarter then me :D

I choose control because I like to control them. It takes time but is worth it. However, it is not possible in this game only in other Civ games. You will most likely get better answers and more out of the discussion if you post your poll in another forum. ;-)

I always automate my city workers when I'm playing Civ Rev. Now if you take it the way Hertsh did, and you mean the worker units in the PC versions of Civ, then I agree with him. I'll manually control those guys. I'm such a peaceful guy that half the game those are the only units I'm moving around anyways :)

In both games I manually control my workers. I find every part of my game plan is more efficient if I manually do everything, mostly because the game has no clue what I'm thinking or trying to do. Adding to that, I mainly only play Single Player (I always play Single Player on Civ IV, but I do play a lot of Multiplayer on Civ Rev) for both games, so I do have a lot of time to think through my decisions, and put them into practice.

I manually control everything in both games. It goes against the purpose of a strategy game to let the AI do it, it doesn't use a strategy.

I manually control them until I have connected all my cities by railroad, when I have usually done everything I can do. Then I set them to automatically build commerce (the button that looks like a little map), so they run around building railroads on every single square, then wait in cities until something gets pillaged.

the heck of?... whats this doing in the civ Rev forums???

I probably missunderstood your poll. Others obviously didn't missunderstand. You see, I have been more thinking of specializing/managing my city tiles than controlling my workers. Controlling workers is something I do in Civ4 where I actually move around the workers. Anyhow, this was a long explanation saying "sorry I missunderstood".

I did vote however, and I do think that managing the tiles in the city radius is just as important in Civ Rev as it has been in all other Civilization games. Specialization and resource management is extremely important to reach your goals and get there fast.

I control them until I either know I won or I'm tired of it. Then I auto them. I'm pretty good at controlling what they do based on the governor, but earlier in the game they waste too many worker turns.

i clicked automate because i do most of the time on civ rev, except when i first make a city, but in civ 4 i manualy do it all the time.

the newest civ game. I think it isn't for the pc:confused:

For Civ III I control them, so I voted that way. I haven't played the console game Civilization Revolution.

In CIV4, I usually start out controlling all my workers so that I can get what I need out of my first city ASAP. Later in the game I automate the bulk of my workforce, but still keep one or two workers handy in case I need to rush them to a newly-discovered resource.

Not sure about CivRev, though, I'm mostly a PC-Gamer.

Cheers,

- Toko.
