The byte limit (4056, IIRC) on the avatars is really starting to bug me. I found a great .jpg of my current avatar, much clearer, and its about 10k. Why can't I include this? Its under 65x65. Can the byte limit please be revoked, or expanded?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but a 65x65 image can't be more than x number of bytes...right? So why worry about that?

The solution is simply enough. Lower the quality of the image, and you'll fit the byte limit.

Personally, I believe the two limits should stay put, just for the sake of saving my slow connection. :)

you can always turn off things like avatars--it'll really speed things up with a 56

I too would prefer the limit (or more importantlly, then ban on animated avatars...:D), but can see why we shouldnt (thats for the size limit, I still think animated avatars should be allowed, just it shouldnt be advertised:evil: aside from a general notive in this subforum, or people with around 2000 posts :mischief: should be allowed to have one :D:mischief:

You need one like this? (2.61 kb)

Thanks alot Crazy Eddie! How did you get it to be so clear?

EDIT: Got it. I'd still like to know how you got the gif to be clear AND under 4k. :D

I have some good graphics programs, but there is a very good freeware optimiser that can't be beaten for making small flie sizes...
