it seems like they are building up to something...perhaps Sogno di Volare debut really really soon?

why do conductors always look/are actually asian? :O I tell ya, I was in the opera in Budapest once and the conductor was Japanese!

um that's the composer Christopher Tin

There is probably a high number of hard working asian kids with a solid classical musical education like piano or other around.

So natural that some of them might go into composing or conducting etc if they stick with it.

Not that it matters...

I was in the audience :D and it did bring a tear to my eye. Such nostalgia for the time when I was an 18-year-old shut-in playing Civ 4 until 6 in the morning, in my bedroom in Perth Australia, and now here I am watching the theme performed live in front of me by a Californian choir in a posh London concert hall :D

There were some Yorkshire men and women in the choir too (I performed with them a couple of days previously!)

The reason Asians (and then we're mostly talking about people from Eastern Asia, like for example China, Japan and Korea) always seem so good at things, is because their culture (which they, in cases like this, of course take with them when moving to the West) is one where working extremely hard to achieve your goal is considered one of the most important virtues, much more so than in the European (and the similar North American) culture. They're not actually better, but they work harder on something on average, and therefore tend to rise to the top in that one field.
