Had a regular customer come in my bookshop today. A few weeks ago, Calling All Dawns was playing on the shop sound system, and it came up in conversation with him. (He’s a retired doc, so I just said how it was in many languages and resisted my ‘also it’s a video game soundtrack, and I am the Lord thy Toku’ urges.) Today, he told me he’d gone out and bought it and enjoyed it. Then, our YouTube playlist shuffle put it on as if cued

There are versions out there with Christopher Tin ( the composer) conducting it live with a whole orchestra and a choir.

Now I'm not religious but the Lords Prayer in an African language to classical European music composed by an Asian and sung and performed by an international crowd, thats quite amazing to see.

Even outside of CIV IV I consider Baba Yetu to be one of the greatest musical pieces of all time.

Even better when it's played in a Muslim country. :p

When I started to play this game I thought this song is some tribal music without any particular meaning. The game itself tells you that Liberalism is good,State property is the best but in the opening menu plays "Our Father":rotfl:
