True Story... I'm the Japanese in a large continent that I had run the Chinese off of. All the other Civ's are scattered about on several other continents and islands. Anyway, France is the only Civ I can tell who has access to oil, but are not taking advantage of it. After years of infantry, ironclads and cruise missles (the only higher power units that don't need units) and no wars at all, I started to get a little antsy. If France is not going to use the oil and England is breathing down my neck with their progress in the space-race, I need to do something. So, I go against my alliance and attack France's little island with the lone oil field. Although Joan of Arc didn't have any allies, I didn't know what the other Civs were going to do. To be safe though, I had built up quite the defensive forces and had my costal cities stock piled with cruise missles. After I took the city and gained control of the oil, every single one of the other Civ's declared war on... France! Looks like I wasn't the only one who wanted to attack them. In 4 rounds the French were down from 20 cities to 6 on their home island. How's that for group participation?:love2:

Anyone else have this happen to them?

I've seen that happen a few times now. The AI can smell blood in the water and will move fast to get in on the action.
