Whilst history is set in stone, it is always possible to speculate what just could happen, if things was different... whether slightly, or greatly so. What if the Aztecs' leader was not Montezuma, and was in fact, a guy called Azedenkae? What if the lands of Earth was different? What if jungles of Bananas, came to dominate the world?

What if, things was like so:

Yes... things would be very, very different indeed.

So let dive into the minds of Azedenkae, the great leader of the Aztec, thrusted into this role, and see what would actually happen...

And so the story begins, 4000 years Before the Common Era, in a world not at all like our own...

It begins, with the discovery of Farming...

"Oh I thank you, great Huitzilopochtli, one who gave us the gift of light and power. I thank thee now, for giving us the means to finally settle down, forgoing the life of nomads, once and for all. I, Azedenkae, will not fail you. You have my word..."

And thus, with the necessary supplies with us, we decided to finally settle...

The location we chose is a perfect one, we have everything we needed with us - we have the coast, we have a section of the mighty river that flows through this land, and we were blessed to be close enough to some ancients ruins - ruins that our people quickly found survivors in. Of course, the survivors chose to join us... willingly...

Our first action after settling down, is to send our Jaguar warrior down south-west, along the coast, whilst we trained another warrior in our great city of Tenochtitlan... we also noticed gems, just to the east of our great city, and as such we began to research Mining right away, in hopes of possibly making use of our luck...

3960 BCE: We meet up with the city-state of Oslo, whom gifted us with 30 Gold... no doubt, they must have been very impressed with our Jaguar warrior. Of course. Now Oslo has informed us that they are a Maritime city, capable of providing us with food, in exchange for gold, and perhaps any extra units we may have. Of course, we're a bit confused now... why are they demanding gold, after offering us some? Hm... weird... we may just raid them later.

3840 BCE: Our Jaguar warrior continued to follow the coast, now moving west. We discovered another river, flowing through the borders of Oslo...

3680 BCE: We have completed our research of Mining! Too bad we kind of forgot about workers... we'll have to train them after our new Jaguar warrior is completed then...

"Oh great Huitzilopochtli, please spare me! I do not know how such a mistake could have been made... I shall sacrifice my wife to you immediately, to atone for this... outrageous sin. Oh great Huitzilopochtli, please forgive me..."

Anyways, we decided to research Animal Husbandry, just in case there are any horses around that we don't know about...

3600 BCE: Our new Jaguar warrior has finished his training, and he has been sent north, along the other side of the coast. Our original Jaguar warrior had decided to abandon the coast, moving south along the new river instead...

Work has now began on a new Worker.

3560 BCE: Our new Jaguar warrior has discovered Mount Fuji! We knew he was a great one, the moment he was born... Oh how proud we are of him... needless to say, our whole city had got a boost in happiness...

3400 BCE: Our research on Animal Husbandry has been completed... too bad there are no nearby source of horses... what a waste. Oh well, we decided to start research on The Wheel - the Floating Gardens looks really, really interesting.

"Yes... yes! You see, oh great Huitzilopochtli! I assure you, my choices are perfectly sensible... I was not aiming for horses, no, not at all... all along, I was aiming for the Floating Gardens! Oh and no, forgive me, we have not trained a worker... yet..."

We had also adopted our first policy, Honor! Although Barbarians... what Barbarians? What the hell are they?

3360 BCE: There are others! Not just city-states, but others like us! Other nations! The first we met call themselves 'India', as opposed to us 'Aztec'. Who are exactly are they? Will they make good... sacrifices? We do find their leader's accent funny... either way, their city lies to the west, just beyond a mountain range. They are far enough away, for now...

We also met the Romans... although we have yet to see their borders. Hopefully, they are nowhere near us. Their leader's voice doesn't sound funny, so it would be a shame to have to kill them...

3200 BCE: Our second Jaguar warrior has met a city-state, Brussels. They, unlike Oslo, are a cultural people, which means that may actually be worth trading with... although we did find a source of Silver near them as well, so we might still have to conquer them after all...

3160 BCE: Oh yeah, I forgot, our second Jaguar warrior kinda moved south a long, long time ago... oh and they also just saw the borders of Rome. Damn, they're pretty close...

Our first Jaguar warrior have also reached a western tip of the land we live on... Well, it's always good to know our limits...

A Barbarian Camp has also been sighted... good timing, we'll just send our first Jaguar warrior there. Perhaps now, we'll know what these Barbarians are all about...

3210 BCE: Our worker has finally been trained! We sent him off to build a gem mine right away.

Productions have now shifted to a Monument. We must always leave something behind for the next generations, mustn't we...

Oh and our second Jaguar warrior has decided to move south-west.

3040 BCE: We have met Arabia! Nothing too special about them, and they're not too close to us either. We'll see what we'll do with them.

Some guy named Ptolemy swung by to announce is works, concerning the world's literacy. We're ranking first! Well, to celebrate Ptolemy's works, we decided to sacrifice him tonight. His name's kinda hard to pronounce.

We also completed the research on The Wheels, so we decided to move on to Pottery.

2960 BCE: Our first Jaguar warrior has finally reached the Barbarian Camp, and saw a Barbarian brute for the first time. Ooohhhh, so this is what 'Barbarians' are all about.

Spoiler :

civ5.jpg

Our Jaguar warrior charged him. The Barbarian Brute died. We decided to raze the camp and take all the gold we can (40 Gold). Although our Jaguar warrior lost 3 HP, he covered himself with the blood of the Barbarian Brute, healing himself for 2 HP. He'll just fortify heal the rest of the 1 HP, and then continue exploring again.

2920 BCE: Our second Jaguar warrior has met Edinburgh! Another city-state. They gift us 15 Gold. Now... they're a militaristic state, which could bode us well, if we allied with them.

Hm... we'll think about it.

2880 BCE: Our initial Jaguar warrior has been fully healed. He shall now continue on his explorations.

2840 BCE: Our worker has completed the gem mine. He shalt now build a mine on the other hill next to our city.

Our second Jaguar warrior has also found a Barbarian Camp. WOOOOO! BLOODBATH TIMEEEEEEEE.

2800 BCE: RAWRRRRRR! Wut, the Barbarian Brute has only 1 HP left! D=

2760 BCE: BAWRRRRRR! WE EMERGED VICTORIOUS! Oh and our second Jaguar warrior has also been promoted, taking the Drill I promotion. Good for him! We forgot to give him a title though. D=

Maybe next time.

Oh and we also completed our research on Pottery, and has moved on to Calendar.

2720 BCE: Tenochtitlan has grown in size! Woo!

Arabia also announced that they're gunna protect Oslo from now on.

Hmph. Whatever.

2680 BCE: "I pointed to Oslo on the map today, and told my people 'I want that city'. They're gonna give me that city."

Our Jaguar warriors, heeding our leader's command, has abandoned all of their previous duties, now moving diligently towards Oslo.

2520 BCE: Our worker has completed another mine, and is now beginning works on a farm.

We also got to choose a policy again. We decided on Warrior Code, spawning a Great General outside of our city. He has been sent to Oslo, to aid our Jaguar warriors.

Oh and our great city of Tenochtitlan has completed the Monument! Work has now begun on the Floating Gardens.

2440 BCE: Our second Jaguar warrior have met an Egyptian Scout! Damn this place is crowded... oh but Ptowhateverhisname is announced it, didn't he, that there was eight nations on this piece of land? Damn...

2400 BCE: A Persian Immortal nears our borders! He brought with him greetings from their leader, Darius I... Augustus Seizure, from Rome, appeared shortly afterwards, announcing that his relationship with Darius I had deteriorated, and wanted to form a Pact of Secrecy with us...

Given that Darius I forces is right outside our borders... we said yes.

2360 BCE: A Golden Age has dawned! BWAHAHAHAHA!

We also spot another Barbarian Camp nearby, just to the west of Oslo. Hm...

Spoiler :

Anyways, we decided to declare war on Oslo.

Our first Jaguar warrior attacked Oslo's Warrior - our warrior lost 3 HP, Oslo's warrior lost 8 HP. A victory for us. He also gained a promotion - Drill I. This time, we also remembered to give him a title - Azura.

2360 BCE: Arabia wants us to make peace with Oslo. We refused.

Calendars are now done, so we began work on Archery.

2320 BCE: Oslo's Warrior suicided our Jaguar warrior, failing miserably. It is only fitting for those who do not believe in the great Huitzilopochtli.

2280 BCE: Our worker has completed a farm. Since his contributions are... not so huge anymore, we're going to stop talking about him, unless he manages something big again.

Our second Jaguar warrior was engaged by another of Oslo's Warrior. We were victorious.

2240 BCE: India announced that they're now protecting Brussels.

Oslo's second Warrior suicided our Jaguar warrior again, dealing 2 HP in damage. Our Jaguar warrior promptly killed him, bathe in his blood, and regained 2 HP. As with before, the sacrifice of the enemy does not go unnoticed. We were regarded greatly by the great Huitzilopochtli.

Spoiler :

civ7.jpg

2200 BCE: Our warriors close in on Oslo... the siege begins.

2160 BCE: We have completed our research on Archery. We begin research on Sailing. Mainly because our leader, Azedenkae, is not sure what we should research next.

"Forgive me! Please, take my second wife!"

2080 BCE: Brussels want Oslo eliminated...

Okay, we'll do it.

Our second Jaguar warrior has also been promoted, again! He gained the Drill II promotion. We also remember to give him a title this time - Azurb.

Azura has also launched his attack on the city of Oslo.

2000 BCE: Bad news! We have knowledge that Ramesses II and his nation has entered the Classical Era!

Spoiler :

civ8.jpg

Ptolemy has announced his newest work. Again.

Yeah, we didn't manage to sacrifice him last time. He got away... Anyways, we came first, again! Well, hopefully this time he'll be able to be sacrificed successfully.

1800 BCE: Azura has gained another promotion! Medic, this time. So that our Jaguar warriors can heal faster.

We have also adopted a new policy, Military Tradition. Hopefully with this, our Jaguar warriors will gain enough promotions soon, so that we could finally end the war.

We also finished researching Sailing. We're going for Bronze Working now.

1760 BCE: Tenochtitlan has completed the Floating Gardens! We're working on an Archer now, just to aid with taking Oslo. Declaring war on Oslo was not the best idea... Oh Azedenkae, what were you thinking?

1640 BCE: Azurb has gained the promotion Drill III.

1600 BCE: Arabia just told us that we're bullies, preying on the weak. Well, he'll pay in time...

1520 BCE: We have completed our research on Bronze Working. Just a thought, but what lay beyond those oceans? Could there be something else out there? We decided to research Optics, so that our warriors can embark on a journey across the seas...

1480 BCE: An unmet player has entered the Classical Era... we truly wonder, could there be, perhaps, other lands far, far out at sea?

Our Archer has finished training, and is enroute to Oslo. Tenochtitlan has started on a Wonder - The Colossus.

Azura has also gained a promotion - Drill II.

1400 BCE: More Barbarian Encampments appear! Edinburgh wants help eliminating them...

Certainly, after we deal with Oslo.

Azurb has now gained the Blitz promotion.

Spoiler :

civ9.jpg

Our archer has arrived outside the city of Oslo, and joining forces with our Jaguar warrior, we have finally taken the city!

Spoiler :

civ10.jpg

Oslo is ours! We decided to turn the city into a puppet city, at least until we learn how to make all those unhappy citizens happy. Our leader, Azedenkae said that we should just sacrifice all of the unhappy citizens, but our advisors managed to convince him otherwise.

1360 BCE: Now that we have taken care of Oslo, we have earned Brussels' gratitude, and they have became our allies!
