Background Music?

with 2 monitors its easy to just put all you music stuff on your 2nd monitor. but unless you dont have that i dont know about ALT-Tab'in. never did me harm. i guess just save before you try it :)

I don't find the music that bad. It's soft, and better than silence. I really like the jazzy stuff that starts playing once you get to the industrial age, too.

There's nothing wrong with using Alt-Tab, Civ III is very stable with regards to that. There is always the Auto Save to fall back to if your computer does crash for some reason, so no need to be worried.

As for music I just get iTunes going in the background, this works great for me.

I had my sound.dll(or something like that) become corrupt twice now by alt-tabbing out of C3C. It is a PAIN to fix, too - a total reinstall is necessary (as far as I can tell)

When that file gets corrupt, the music/sound will play for a while (5 min? 15 min?) and then crash, looping the last .5 s or so again and again. It is really annoying.

for some reason civ3 is not stable on my system, which is actually pretty stable

ive had civ 3 for maybe 4 months now,i had to reinstall 3 or 4 times

first time i stoopidly tried to patch the god danged thing(didnt know PTW patch dont work),second time,i start & load the game, get a message saying cant load knightdeath.wav

the other times i think it just stopped working flat,i have PTW version 1.4 something i think

i think company COs that release buggy games, just to have them out before christmas should be set on fire in front of their children
