I had only three turns remaining for my completion of the Manhattan Project when the U.N. banned building nuclear weapons. So I switched to space ship parts because I'm behind in the space race. Is there any advantage at all in completing the Manhattan Project once the U.N. has banned nukes? If a nation already has nuclear weapons, does the U.N. ban change any rules reguarding thier use and diplomatic effects?

It's also a controversy to to ban nukes before theyre invented. :crazyeye:

If you get enough votes (by conquering a good chunk of population) you can repeal the ban

That, folks, is democracy.

It's times like this I wonder why the middle East has any reservations about democracy.

Any nukes that have been built prior to the ban (which is none in your case) can still be fired and I think the diplomatic penalty is the same.

Hey I wonder if razing the UN can get rid of this and other resolutions? Any one tried this?.

I think that, unlike in CivIII, razing the UN will result in the ghost of the UN haunting you forever, still imposing irrevocable democracy on your evil empire.

Not impossible to imagine, it's like banning human cloning before it ever happens

It is impossible to imagine, since nobody would even fathom the idea of cloning if the technology didn't exist.

The UN ban is only regarding the creation of ICBMs. Once it's passed, no one will be able to build nukes. Any already built nuclear weapons will still be 100% usable. There's nothing quite like building a couple dozen ICBMs before anyone else gets to build any, then banning nukes. You get the power.
