Just curious as to what level of barbarian activity does everyone play? If this was asked before, sorry i haven't seen it.

You wimp! And I don't mean that in an insulting way, but in a kind of nice and misguided one. I ALWAYS play on Raging Hordes, because the barbarians are a benefit to me and never a hindrance. They do, however, tend to slow down the weaker civs. :D

Raging. It's fun. I like a challenge from them.

Definately RAGING!
Makes you happy you built the Great Wall when an uprising sends a few stacks of 30+ Horseman at your cities!

I don't find it to take any skill to deal with barbarians. I just find them annoying. So I play with sedentary just so I can get goody huts. Makes the game more fun for me, and I have no trouble adjusting for them in tournament/gotm games.

I like sendetary but roaming is fun, and makes me build an army.

Raging. Always Raging.

I've always felt that Barbarians should be a chief difficulty for early civilizations, and on Raging they sometimes amount to that. They occasionally disrupt my expansion (by forcing settlers to wait for escorts, or in extreme cases snatching overly brave settlers), but still rarely amount to much.

It seems that Barbarians actually became less a threat when PTW came, since they don't attackin in huge overwhelming hordes like the used to. My Spears get time to heal.

I'm not as good at Civ 3 as you probabily are nickmadler :worshp:, and I REALLY hate barbarians.....

Always Raging! If there is a massive uprising, everything you need is a good road network and to send some more units into the city. At Regent, 3-4 spearmen usually is enough.

Best regards,

None.
I find them annoying and not adding a lot to the game.
