Barbarians are Swarming!

I've recently installed Civ VI on my new Vista machine, and it's playing smoothly for the most part, but when playing at Noble level, Barbarians and Animals a FAR more numerous than when I played it on a WinXp machine. They are proliferating at over twice the rate they normally do, and furthermore, they are focusing almost all of their aggression on my Civ, ignoring the others, while the Other Civs don't seem to be going after the barbarian cities with the same ferocity they usually do. (This could account for they are swarming so bad.)

The lowdown is, when I was playing it on a WinXp machine, the barbarians were moderate in quantity, attacked all the civs, and all the civs attacked the barbarians. When I play it on the Vista machine, the barbarians are more numerous and focus almost entirely on attacking my civ, and the other civs are practically ignoring them.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, and what's the exact problem?

Wow you got CIV VI where can I get it? ;)

seriously though, maybe you checked Raging Barbarians by accident?

I clicked the "play now" button, which doesn't give me an option on how many barbarians strike. Besides, even with "Raging barbarians" checked, the barbarians should be attacking the other civs just as much.

Go to the victory conditions screen and check the game settings. If it is set to Raging Barbs this will be shown in the middle column, along with any other special game conditions.

Also, are you playing this game with a bigger map or fewer civs than normal? If so there will be more fog of war which causes barbs to spawn.

I went to victory conditions, and settings, and it did not display the Barbarian settings. I'm playing Vanilla, and unless I play a custom game, it doesn't give me an option to adjust the Barbarian settings.
