Basic XML change (I hope...)

Well... everyone hates the Vedic Aryans event, right? So, instead of blowing it up entirely, I want to modify it, so that it is more balanced. Its slightly less historically accurate, but meh. Live with it. Balance >> Realism anyway, right??

Two options:

#1: Change the Requirements to Priesthood and Bronze Working (currently it requires 2 civs to know Archery -.-). If I can't do two techs, change the requirements to Writing only (2 civs need it for the event to appear)

#2: Change the Requirements to Feudalism and CoL (Or just Feudalism), and have the event spawn Longbows, instead of Archers.

Now, I know how to mod the game in XML (I have modified the game so that global warming spawns TUNDRA, not DESERT), but I can't find out how to modify events... any tips?

I will play my current game without this mod, and just disable the Vedic Aryan event entirely. However, I think that the barbarian spawn events are quite nice, as long as they don't pop up on turn 21 :p

If this isn't the right place, please tell me, as I can't find a "Help with XML/Python" forum...
 
well to modify events, you simply just look at the "events" folder inside the XML folder. It will have 2 important files that you should be looking at; eventtriggerinfos.xml and eventinfos.xml

from there you can play around with them a bit, I'd suggest reading the guide for how to modify bts events. I forgot where it is, I would guess in the tutorials/reference forum.
