It has been a year or so since I last played. Thought I'd come back and check out the game again. I have a bunch of questions, so, here they are...

Has one of the official updates fixed the obscenely long delay between turns?

Is ICS still the dominant strategy, or is there another flavour du jour? Or are there multiple strategies without a single one being significantly more efficient than the others?

How is multiplayer now in terms of crashes etc.?

Have any units/buildings/mechanics significantly changed since Nov 2010, and if so, what are they/how do they impact the game?

Has diplomacy improved?

At what difficulties does the AI "cheat" now? Is Prince still where the player, along with the AI, get no bonuses or penalties?


If anyone can fill me in on the above, I would appreciate it

1. Yes wait time between turns is better, but this may be a hardware issue.

2. ICS has been nerfed, tall is much more popular/viable.

3. cant say on multiplayer.

4. Yes, there are changes in units/buildings. refer to a patch note.

5. More is known about diplomacy, refer to forums for AI leader flavoring.

6. This has not changed.

4. see patch updates. some improvement on buildings and social policies.

6. No change there. Except for the AI being cheating a lot more at the most difficult levels.
 
#6: That never was the case.

For happiness purposes the AI always has played at Chieftain level.
Prince is the closest to even as far as handicaps but there is no level without handicaps.
(Warlord was some handicaps for the human, but still gives the AI a happiness edge)
