Beginner help - the basics

Supposedly, the reason is that you need to research Robotics which is not a space ship tech and the tech detour costs more time than the extra production saves in most cases. Keep in mind production bonuses are additive and that you already have +150% from factory, coal plant and laboratory. So the space elevator raises your total multiplier for the stasis chamber and engine from 2.5 to 3 and from 3.5 to 4 for the other parts (100% resource bonus), so an increase of 20% and 14% in real terms, respectively.

Hi!I don't know, maybe the question is a little off topic... How to abandon the city? It was in Civ III.

It is not possible to abandon a city, however there are two (+1) options to get rid of a city.

First, it can be gifted to an AI, although there are limitations to what cities an AI will take. This is useful sometimes, not to get rid of a city, but to gain positive diplomatic modifiers with an AI.

Second, when capturing a city you can choose to raze it, incurring a negative diplomatic modifier from the previous owner. Even if a recently captured city is badly placed it is frequently better to keep it, as in most cases it will be a grown city with infrastructure you would loose by razing it.

If you just want to correct the mistake of settling by accident, consider reloading a previous (auto)save.

Thanks for the advice. I'm more concerned about how to change the location of the city after capturing it from the AI.

P.S. I would not like to cheat and get into the editor :)

You can't do that through the game UI. You have to remember to raze the city when it's captured and then put your settler in the new location

And if the city was obtained peacefully?

I mean, through a peace treaty. That is, I enter into negotiations with the state and demand the city. They're giving it to me. It is located on the middle island, where you can place two cities on the edges, but AI founded it in the center. The city was not captured, acquired through cultural annexation or any other way - it was obtained through diplomatic means. The question is, how to get rid of it? Should I go into the editor?

You likely won't be able to. You can only get rid of cities via razing or disbanding on cultural flip without WBing it away.

AIs won't raze a city unless they are forced to (the city has never grown to size 2) and even barbs are likely to keep it if it's got population, so just leaving it unguarded at war probably won't work (and barbs don't land units amphibiously/can't spawn on an island as small as you are describing).

Give it away to an AI, DoW them, and raze it yourself is kinda the only option outside of World Builder
