Best buy, anything but expansions!

Alright. It's my friends b-day. I want to get him Civ or Rise of Nations or something.
I go to the Best-Buy.
Games section.
I turn the corner and what do I see
Expansions! Nothing but expansions!
Civ3 Conquests! No vanilla or PTW!
Rise of Nations thrones and patriots! They never even had RoN
Empire Earth Art of Conqests! Where's the regular?
Age of Mythology Titans! Not even a gold edition!
Command & Conquer Generals! Deluxe editions sold out my ass! they're rippin us off!
They even had a seperate Viking invasion MTW!!! OMG!

Why the heck don't they sell good ol' games any more? If you need the vanilla version of a game you could atleast sell some gold edition!

Anybody else notice this or is this just local?

Maybe you can get him an expansion for a game he has? Or dont go that that shop OR just get one of those £5 games by soldout

I highly doubt it...
Anyways, I ordered Empires: DMW on amazon... but I'm still mad cause I wanted to give him Civ 3 complete

Hmmm.. better than my situation. I'd been going to my Best-Buy for years and at the beginning of this summer I walked in and realized I was completely lost, the whole store had been rearranged. Eventually I got use to the new layout and last week I went to get a game and guess what? They completely moved everything around again. It took me 15 minutes to find the computer games, next to appliances

My best buy would have been getting Command and Conquer Generals, Lord of the Rings Return of the King on PC and Red Faction 2 on Xbox for AUS$95, in that bargain I also got the Zero hour expnasion pack for Command and Conquer Generals.
