To my mind, the "best wonder" depends on how you play civilization. My way is building many big cities with cathedrals in all of them. Then, when i got ~20 cities with 40 shields-production in each, i launch SS, or mass-produced bombers, carriers and armors. With such a civilization, i think Michelangelo's chapel is the most profitable wonder: 4 unhappy changed in content, each turn, in each cities (with cathedral), till the end of the game - the end, as i never discover communism, and never give the other civs the time to discover it. ;)

Those results really shock me. 34 people voting for Pyramids. It's not like it takes long to get Republic and Democracy though anyway.

I'd have to say Hoover Dam for the same reasons Tony mentioned. I like to play on Earth maps, so I try to build it on the EuroAsian side of the world where I'll have more cities.

I choose the Colossus because of more trading. Only drawback is it is only for one city. Maybe there can be a Wonder editor.

IMO pyramids are useless, as you can get to republic faster than you can build the pyramids. Womens suffrage is up there, but I would go for Bachs Cathedral. I allways get somewhat stuck for a few hundred years when I can't grow because of unhappiness, and I don't want to increase tax or luxuries. Bachs always provides a massive boost and from there it is plain sailing to the end of the the game.

For me, its the Great Library :D.

I do like my Great Library.. it's definitely great (gettit? Tehe) in games where you need to focus on depost conquest cause then you can just piggy-back though the techs with help from other civs..

I voted for the Great Wall just to be controversial ... muhahaha ... and none of you can attack me for it either hahahaha :)

The Great Wall isn't as bad as people can make it out to be.. In fact, I'd say it's in the top 5 for me.
