Thought I would start a new thread in case anyone wanted to talk about the game. I always liked picking one at random and seeing what I could do with it. i.e. Molding the Civ to my inclinations or the other way around. Any thoughts out there?? :)

I will choose China cuz i am chinese , the rider is the only unit that got 2 advantages in movem and def!Their industrious can produce units and wonders faster.Military produce powerful top notch units to invade cities to gain technology.Germany is good but is not that effective, science can always be stealed and gained when u invade other cities .I am going to use RIder rush in middle ages (unbeatable)

I dont know - I dont think there is one but for me I like the Aztecs because of their early on bonuses - the faster, more hitpointed warrior will allow me to explore vilalges, get more towns and conquer enemy civs early on. :goodjob:

Like I have said before, the French look awfully enticing to me, what with both commercial and industrious........however, I may be the Americans first, as expansionistic also looks very interesting.

I think I'll play as the Americans. I like the fact that they have superiority late in the game, and the F-15 just looks cool. I also like how the "expansionistic" Civs get an extra unit for exploration - I like to expand as early as possible, and with an extra eye to begin with, it lets me cut to the chase quickly.

I think I'll try my first time as the Germans. They look good, and the Panzer tank is going to rock! I also think that Militaristic and Scientific is the best combination out there so the Germans sound pretty good, but I'll try out out as the Babylonians too on my second game. I am going to create the Byzantines and the Ottoman Turks. (Not sure how I'm going to say which gets how much land, but I'll think of something. Just 1 more day....

The English...I have always appreciated seapower as a means of engaging with maximum force versus select points and seapower provides the platform.

The English unique unit means that I can attack and defeat enemy fleets of the same era without loss whilst they are very likely to lose to my ships as mine will have accured experience.

(based on info- perhaps wrong- that man-of-war is 3 on attack, 2 defence vs frigate 2 attack, 2 defence...thus the relative power of the man-or-war is immense!)

I'd play any Civ with the military ability, since I believe it's the relatively better attribute in the game compared to others...

Now no-one expected Fayadi's choice now, did they!?!

Industrious anything is good I think...though I will say expansionist doesn't seem to be that great...it all depends on terrain and geography I guess and if you end up expansionist on a small island you'd have been much better off with something else. I dig the French and the Persians so far...

I have to go with the Germans, and not just because my family's half-German. Nice CSA combo and when the Panzers become available . . . Look out!

I started my first game with the Germans and it looks like it's going to play out somewhat accurately. A nice mid-sized nation with good production becomes a military powerhouse in mid-20th century (hopefully without the whole "losing both wars" thing).

I think Ill go with my usual choice of the English. I like having that early protection of the island.

Of course, Ill have to go with the Romans eventually when I just start mowing down anyone in my path =P

For my first game, I had to be the Americans of course. So far though, I seem to like the Greeks. It's nice to know that hoplite is at your back during the early on when you're still feeling your way around the map. But, being from Michigan State, it's also nice being green and having a city named "Sparta" :D
